Sheryl Constable
My name is Sheryl Constable, and I have 15 years of experience as a legal secretary in various small, medium and large-tier law firms in New Zealand and Australia.
I started my career in the legal industry after completing a New Zealand Certificate in Business Administration and Computing (Level 3) straight from school. Upon graduating, I joined a small firm of trust solicitors in Auckland as their office junior. From there, I moved on to a well-known large-tier law firm in Auckland Central, and it was there that I had the opportunity to move into my first role as legal secretary, supporting the litigation and employment teams.
Fast forward to 2012, when I decided to jump the ditch to Australia, I joined a medium-tier law firm in Sydney's CBD as a legal secretary in the insurance litigation team. I thoroughly enjoyed this role as it allowed me the opportunity to work in the area of personal injury, which I found highly interesting! After spending 3 years in Sydney, I returned to New Zealand, settling in Taupo with my family, and purchasing my first home!
Since then, I have worked a number of years for a small law firm in Taupo's Centre and even had the opportunity to join a law firm in Christchurch in their litigation and family teams.
As well as gaining a wealth of experience, my time as a legal secretary has allowed me to hone in on my precision, attention to detail and time management skills which has been invaluable. It also helps to have a warped sense of humour!
